Centralize all eCommerce operations on Shopify

La Belle Excuse is a family-run business that first specialized in the production of extra-virgin olive oil from Greece. The desire to create a high quality product has been at the heart of the production process since the company’s beginnings. Over time, they have diversified their offering to include fine products of all kinds, and body products, under the Lolo banner, designed for the sensitive skin of toddlers and made with olive oil.

Mandate

Bring together all B2C and B2B transactions on a single platform

At the beginning, La Belle Excuse had two separate sites to present and sell its two brands, Lolo and La Belle Excuse. Both transactional sites were hosted on WordPress/WooCommerce platforms. The mandate was to migrate everything to a single address that would bring together all the products sold by La Belle Excuse – Lolo, La Belle Excuse and the Art de vivre collection – while maintaining a simple and efficient experience for consumers used to browsing different sites. Our team of specialists therefore wanted to simplify maintenance for the La Belle Excuse team by migrating to an easy-to-use platform that allows for greater growth, like Shopify. Finally, the third part of the mandate was to create a version of the site accessible only to merchants wishing to sell their products in-store, to simplify ordering and product search. Novatize therefore created a B2B portal to present collections and products dedicated to retailers, along with adapted price lists.

Approach

Migrate to Shopify to centralize brand experience

Our mission was first to adapt the mockups to meet Shopify’s limitations, opportunities and functionalities, to create a single experience that brings both brands together on a single platform. Next, we migrated the information from both WooCommerce stores to Shopify, making sure to retain historical data, migrate content, and ensure that existing customers found everything they needed on the new site. Our team of specialists then proceeded with the custom development phase. Finally, we provided Shopify training to give La Belle Excuse as much autonomy as possible for the future.

Results

Smooth eCommerce operations for customers and retailers

The first month of the new platform’s launch was a real success, with 16,000 visits. This success was underpinned by an average shopping basket of $121, which enabled La Belle Excuse to demonstrate its customers’ confidence and interest in their products. The migration of both brands onto a single platform has greatly simplified operations, reducing the workload that could have been generated by two separate platforms. A single connection is now required to manage the advertising platforms, and the integration of POS has been a real turning point for the company.

In addition, with a network of 835 listed points of sale, access to the B2B portal offers seamless order management, simplifying the relationship between the company and its numerous outlets.
