Modernizing a historic family brand

Founded in 1989 in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly, Fromagerie Bergeron has earned its reputation as Canada’s Gouda master, known for its signature red wax coating. Driven by values of authenticity, innovation and leadership, this family-owned business blends time-honored cheesemaking expertise passed down through generations with a constant drive to meet the demands of today’s fast-evolving market. Starting in the early 2000s, the company launched a strategic shift with three major facility expansions, modernizing its operations while staying true to its high-quality dairy products. Today, Fromagerie Bergeron strikes a perfect balance between tradition and ambition, proudly rooted in Québec’s rich terroir.

Mandate

Accelerating Fromagerie Bergeron’s digital transformation

The mandate was to unify the brand’s two existing websites, a corporate showcase and an eCommerce storefront, into a single Shopify platform. This consolidation aimed to simplify technical maintenance, reduce third-party dependency, and deliver an elevated online experience that aligns with customer expectations. A tailored training program also enabled eCommerce managers to take full ownership of the platform.

Objectives

Building a high-performance digital channel

The first step was to rethink the tree structure to facilitate access to key information for new users, and simplify the journey of a current Camso product owner. Our team of design specialists created a user experience (UX) based on the reality of users, and prioritized to highlight product data. We made the ambitious choice of dividing the two product offerings by a navigation to offer a personalized experience for each area. Using the same codes and a similar navigation ensures consistency and avoids losing the user. We have also implemented a number of personalized features to reassure and guide users through the purchasing process. As for user tests, they have enabled us to confirm our choices and thus confirm the value created by our solutions.
